Hello, I am Mindy. Hello,
I am Mindy.

A full-stack web and software developer.

I am currently putting Robotics and Education (and fun) together. I find passion for building and solving problems around creative tools and web applications.

I am looking for my next challenges! >>

About me

I am a creative-oriented software engineer who is also an aspiring comic artist. At first, my set of skills were seemingly disconnected, but they came together to help me become a full-stack developer.

My 7 years of professional journey goes through organizations that focused on robotics and education. I frequently collaborate with other creative, educators, and technical minds, and bridge the gap between front-end and back-end.

My passion keeps me motivated and excited to learn new things. I am currently studying Machine Learning on the side, and hope to project this into my career.

Global Game Jam
Participated in Global Game Jams in Pittsburgh with a dual role of a graphic artist and a programmer. I worked in a team to have rigorous game dev session for 48 hours to complete a game, won:
Machine Learning in Robotics
An assortment of projects showcasing Machine Learning in context of robotics. Done for an online course at Udacity, which tested my knowledge on concepts such as Neural networks, Semantic segmentation, SLAM, and RL — used TensorFlow/Keras and PyTorch in Jupyter to build and train models. Simulated robots and their environment using ROS and Gazebo.

Notable projects:
  • Trained a model to recognize six different hand signs.
  • Created a target-chasing robot using a model trained to perform semantic segmentation to find a target figure. Pixel location of the target figured is extracted from a camera feed in order to control motors.
  • Simulated a home-service robot by using RTAB-mapping to map a simulated room, and then used AMCL to guide a robot to a target location.
Programming Judge
Active as a programming judge to interview young minds and/or to catch cheaters in various local and national robotics competitions such as First Lego League and VEX Robotics Competition.
